so I've always known from as a kid that I had bad hairloss genes from my dad. my dad and all his brothers are NW7 along with their father.
but I just went to a wedding and my cousin on my MOMS side that is 23 years old is diffuse thinning in a clear NW7 pattern too. I have no hope. I just started oral minoxidil and I've been on fin for years but I doubt it will be enough to save me. I wouldn't even care if I was NW4 right at this moment if it meant I wouldn't progress to an NW7. If nw4 was the extent of my hairloss I would just get a top tier transplant but I can't even cope with that either.

Well you are on finasteride, which only halts hair loss in like 90% of people, you may be the other 10%. But don't you dare give up bro, here is a routine for you:
  1. Dutasteride 0.5mg/day
  2. Oral min (dosage is up to you)
  3. Microneedling at 1.5mm every week
  4. RU58841 50mg/day
Its the same as mine except I use topical min, but with this stack I doubt you can lose hair unless you sippin on the juice. Try it out and see if it works, I bet it will.

appreciate it bro. do u have any recommendations as to where to get dutasteride from.

also do I still need to microneedle if I'm on oral min? I thought it was just to help your scalp absorb topical min.

gonna try the dutasteride/oral min combo and prob microneedle but gonna pass on the RU for now. seems like a hassle to me and I wanna see if the stack is enough without it before I commit to it for the rest of my life

I get it from a family doctor so I don't know much online sources, I buy the generic which is very cheap.

Yes, microneedling every week, although the mechanism is not fully understood yet, microneedling is great for simulating growth at dead zones. I can't recommend it enough.

Yeah, that's a good idea, see if dut/min/microneedling is enough before going on RU.

ok I will look up micro needling vids but from pics I've seen I can't believe it doesn't damage the follicles. you just puncture ur scalp over your hairs JFL?

also u should switch to oral min bro results look god send

Why is RU needed in the stack? What does it do?

It is, test will take care of your sexual health, DHT isn’t the ONLY hormone when it comes to sexual health…
That’s why just fin doesn’t always work for hair loss; it’s isn’t the only hormone when it comes to hair loss; test will also do it; hence why a topical anti androgen in conjunction to fin or dut is the superior course of action (whether that be ketoconazole or ru, depending on how bad it is)

Dutasteride does not suppress all scalp DHT or the left over testosterone. Although testosterone has a bond affinity of only ~1/6 compared to DHT, it can wreck damage on those with sub optimal hair genes. So RU58841 comes into play by acting like and shield and blocking the androgen receptors so that DHT and T cannot bind to them and cause miniaturization. RU58841 has been shown to have a binding affinity similar to testosterone, but it does not have as strong of a binding affinity of DHT. However, it can still potentially protect your follicles against DHT by overwhelming the receptor by sheer numbers (this part is just theory, we don't have much clinical data regarding RU at this point unfortunately).

Sorry for the late reply, but from my limited understanding of microneedling, the whole point is to cause damage in a controlled manner near the follicles. This way when the wound heals, the healing mechanism of the body will extend to the nearby hair as well. I don't think there is a scientist that can explain exactly how it works, but most people would agree that this is the gist of it.

Although this is anecdotal, this dude on reddit saw no gains on dutasteride for about a year, but when he added microneedling at 1.5mm once per week (without minoxidil surprisingly), he regained his hair line back. I also second this experience, I attribute a lot of my regrowth in dead zones to adding microneedling on top of min.

Would only taking RU against MPB do anything without fin / dut?

Honestly it is a hit or miss, because RU was a way weaker binding affinity than DHT. Its like using foot soldiers to fight tanks. However, if you use enough, you can technically overwhelm the DHT. I have see people use it at 100mg/day as a standalone and it works, but if you are cucked by the norwood reaper like me, you gotta use fin/dut as well.

chill the fuck out, stop taking poison chemicals. let it naturally happen. and if it does. get a hair system, its not even that deep to stress over

terrible advice. I would lose 4 points if I was bald srs. hair system is too cringe for me and having to explain it to any girl I start to date seems like hell
