It's more nuanced, paternity certainty is ingrained in us, which is why we try to separate women in two groups (wifes | whores), this is universal across every culture.

In many mammals the male won't give a fuck and will dip after a succesful slay, but we are highly social beings just like lions and wolves, and the relationship that benefits us the most for survival just like the latter is non-strict monogamy, women don't care as much as men if the man cheats because she's sure of her being the mother of her offspring anyways, though she will still feel humilliated.

I relate. Even though i know its purely a chemical reaction i still believe that someone is out there somewhere, my right one. My future wife whom i can share all aspects of life with. I don't believe i'll meet her or be with her, but i do believe she exists. I dream about her at night and during the day, i visualize our life together, i cry about it too. I really truly do, however this may just be cope to keep me from committing. Yet i will keep believing in this farfetched dream of true unadulterated love.

No, it comes from within, byproduct of ancient social conditioning you could say, human babies and women are too weak to survive by themselves and childhood is too long, an adult male (father) is necessary for the survival of his offspring. He has to be there and ensure she nurtures and raises his child. The neurological pathways and chemicals needed for love to occur are inside us already.

Again we are not monogamous but the men will always try to pursue so, we have mild sexual dimorphism compared to other apes like Gorillas which have a much more extreme male-male competition and are polygamous, on the contrary gibbons are mostly monogamous and have really low dimo.
