If I guess somebody wrong it's actually because they look like what I think. Not because I'm wrong. After all there is an overlap - some people can genuinely look like the other.

I've seen every one of them from every corner of their country. I've become very accustomed to how they look.

I don't blame most people for thinking we look the same. It takes a special eye and years of interactions with a broad spectrum of phenotypes to distinguish the tiny details that set them apart.

you know you're just describing basic human differences like any population right? if we were truly judging each other on this level like "i can tell u are ethiopian" most of us would be judged the same based on our general features. but it seems more like you're projecting your own feelings and coping mechanisms onto them to feel special lol

Most people judge on general features. Can you tell difference between Ethiopian or Nigerian? There is but in most people's eyes they are black Africans and that's it

This isn't my projection. Every ethnic does it to that closest relative. If you call a paki an Indian he will go insane. If you call a Turk an Arab it's the same. Apparently it's the same between northern and southern Chinese - even though in everybody else's eyes they look the same. There is a difference! Just nobody is paying attention because they don't really have the experience with diversity of phenos (or autistic enough) to realise these difference..

Ethiopian and Nigerian aren't as night and day. Black people are harder to tell apart. But browns (I'm including curries, MENAs, LATAMs and even some swarthy meds) the average person cannot tell differences WITHIN them. But when you find the outliers it's even harder for people to distinguish.

It's kind of cherry pick. But I I ran an experiment here - I picked some of the lightest curries (they still looked curry to me) and I picked some swarthy MENA and latina (they still looked MENA and latina to me) but most people couldn't guess them.

I know. The problem is they think that everybody else can do this as much as them. But at the end of the day we are just a brown blob to the rest of the world.

Lol, yeah...they would often discriminate against others from a poorer region or lower caste and will brag to westerners about their superior caste, without realizing they are all seen as the same by white people.
