Seems like a better option, but not sure at all.
Is anyone here a linux user?

Are considering switching to Linux because of Windows 11? You should look into Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC; it'll still get security updates until 2032.

If youre trying to improve your privacy the pros are often marginal unless youre engaged in something highly illegal,,, and even then the feds can track a target if its a priority,,,, also, virtual machines generally suck at performance

I just got a new computer (have been using a really old mac for years) and the second I saw that Windows literally spams pop up ads in your desktop I immediately looked into how to switch

Idk how anybody uses that shit tbh especially since switching to Linux is so easy in the age of LLM's

Can't run some programs I need in linux. No alternatives for linux either.
So... Should I keep using windows, right?

It depends on what applications you have on your desktop. Look them up and search for alternatives that work on linux.

Then you can try linux and decide what you want to run, or just dual boot.

I use it. Everything that I used on windows and that I need, I can run on linux. I don't really play games, but the few that I boot up sometime are available on linux and most of them are native, some run even better than windows. Just use Fedora, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint. They're very easy to install, are stable, and are great for beginners. I'd suggest ubuntu just because it's literally the linux version of windows, and it runs well because of wayland. Same thing with fedora. I really like mint, the only problem is it's still on X11.

If you need to run Windows only programs just install Windows-To-Go on an external hard drive. You can do so on a USB but it will rape the USB (tried it once, it got fried after a few months)

Fedora, Ubuntu, Linux mint are Linux Distros. A Linux Distro is a complete operating system. Depending on the Distro, it can look different, it can remind you of Windows, or it can remind you of MacOS. There are also distros that cater to specific needs, for example privacy, gaming, security, coding, pen-testing or maybe something that can run on very old computers and demands very little resources. Some are cutting-edge, they provide the latest "packages" for apps and drivers. Some are designed to be more stable, and some are designed to run on very little ram. Ubuntu is a Linux Distro developed and maintained by Canonical, a company. Some Linux Distros are, like Ubuntu, curated by a corporation, others by a group of developers, some by a single individual. Ubuntu is very easy to use, it has great driver support and I'd suggest you to use it because there is plenty of information and resources for it, so if you encounter a problem, there's a 99% chance you'll find a solution by simply googling or looking up a youtube video.
