AAAAaaahhhhhhhh oh my days, I've also been having this same problem for the longest time and it's always really bad when you don't know something the person was talking about was meant to be serious!! I hate it a lot too, but from contextual clues, those friends should know that you're joking. Anyway, I think it's okay to always be in a light/ relaxed mood(?), that's a personality trait as well. You don't need to change much,but what i normally do if someone doesn't get a joke is just say something like "Sorry sorry I was joking", but not in an overly apologetic manner. Don't know if this helps, but just sharing my opinion

Whenever Im in a group of people im fairly comfortable with (classmates, acquaintances, etc), im unable to say anything serious, or have a real conversation with them. everything I say is either a complete joke, irony/satire, or meaningless. This makes people immediately assume I have autism or some sort of mental disorder making me slow in the head, but it isnt true, I do very well in school and usually get around 130 on iq tests.

My jokes arent advanced or anything, its always ragebait or really cringey stuff, and its also very repetetive (i have a set of things i say many times)
Also, the jokes are long term. Usually, when people say a joke, right after they laugh, making it obvious that its a joke. But for me, I keep it going, insisting that I mean it.

This is when someone says something dumb or mean to me

"Smartschoolboy"
If I get something right or I know something, ill call myself a smart schoolboy or if somebodys smart ill call them a smart schoolboy

Ill always say shit like "no diddy though" after literally anything I say even if its completely non sexual
Also, I say jokes like "im gonna diddy you" if im bored

Last but not least, gay jokes
I ALWAYS say gay jokes, its become a part of my vocabulary at this point.



I know this is my fault for being so weird. I get upset that they dont "get my jokes" but if i didnt even get to know them yet, how would they even know im joking? So please, you guys, what do you think caused this? and why do i keep doing this to myself, i do it without even thinking 24/7
