I would imagine he could barely look anyone in the eye anymore as he knew the war was likely lost and the allies want unconditional surrender. I wonder how different people acted around him compared to 1940. Going from the most loved man to now the most hated at that point. Especially since lots of the command already wanted to surrender. Crazy to think about
