immune to tretinoin?

is it normal to be immune to tretinoin? I've been using tret 0.1% and have not reached the "purge" stage, and my skin has only gotten a little better. I still have minor acne on my forehead and between my eyebrows.

about 6 months , an before that i was using differin gel but i also didn't experience any purge

not everyone has a purge phase, and it doesnt mean it doesnt work
