importance of fixing teeth

My orthodontist took forward my lower teeth, expanded a bit the canine and premolar area, and the mandible come forward, without being locked back by the reclination of the incisor and other teeth. She also inclined outside the upper teeth, in order to create more space for the mandible to come forward. My lower third height now is a little more taller, but keep in mind I had already really good gonial angle and e long ramus, which enables good movements of the mandible.
so you are saying just with braces you get forward advancment ov the mandible jfl?
how old are you?

Did it affect chin height?

How was your bite?

Not exactly. My mandible was positioned forward, it hasn't had any bone growth, only a different, more advanced position. I'm currently 24

Chin is the same, the whole mandible changed position, not shape
Since when did you get the braces?

I'm mid 20's and looking forward improving my deepbite because it increases my chin height.

Each case is different. I have a normal mandible body length with a very good Ramus length and good chin (not very tall btw) and a good maxilla. So a surgery was out of mind. But maybe you have a skeletal problem which require surgery

So just your bite was a bit off?
Did you get wider palate too?

Yeah my teeth were all out of places, with a deep bite class 2 division two malocclusion. A little wider in the literal incisor, canine and pre molar section, the back were already good

Teeth are of top tier importance. Assuming you're young consider getting a device that will advance or expand your jaw so that you can get braces, rather than get extractions. These devices are cope for adults but do work on teens
is it too late if your 18-19?
