In a fight does a 2 inch height difference matter ?

You have to use height to your advantage, go for the legs, take the fight to the ground as quickly as possible. Punching upwards to the face as a manlet is a fools errand unless you can uppercut like Mike Tyson.

Have boxed my 5"9 friend and im 5"7 He is nearly the same level as me and his reach is the same as mine.

Weight and skill is what matters the most. Height is over rated in fighting and two inches is inconsequential

Lower point of gravity. Essentially greater leverages for wrestling. Its easier to control someone when you have the shorter leverages
