So a lot of people here seem to not actually understand what BS does, an how it works, so im trying to explain.

The main process that allows growth is Mechanotransduction, the cel conversion of mechanical force into signaling.
Heres how it works, so that you too can bs

1. Fluid Stress

When bone experiences mechanical force or bending, the mineralized matrix deforms. This compression forces interstitial fluid to flow through the lacunocanalicular network, the tiny tunnels housing osteocytes in ur bones. This fluid movement generates shear stress across osteocyte membranes and primary cilia, these cilia help signal production, turning physical pressure into a concentrated fluid signaling.

2. Ion Channel Activation

This in tern allows channels to open in the pourous membrane of your osteocyte through piezo channels, allowing calcium into the cytoplasm and
Cell-surface integrins (v3) anchor osteocytes to the overall bone matrix, converting trauma into structural deformation of the internal cytoskeleton.

3. Signaling to Osteoblasts

Once osteocytes detect load, they release signals that signal osteoblast differentiation and bone deposition:

4. The Role of Trauma

Bone smashign Trauma: Physical strain that creates micro-fractures disrupt local matrix fluid and trigger targeted osteocyte apoptosis. Surrounding healthy osteocytes respond by upregulating local osteoblast recruitment to repair the region. Thus growing it stronger, bigger than before.

All in all, through blunt force trauma, we can activate the deep bone matrix to stimulate the osteocytes to therefore produce more osteoblasts leading to immature and eventually full bone remodeling of the site of imapct.
