...exactly the same as before, right down to the last molecule. That is astronomically unlikely.

BUT, on an infinite timescale in which the universe ends and is reborn over and over again, all events that can occur eventually will, and you will live this very life you are now living over and over and over again, and more.

Prediction: 0 replies.

OK, I'm happy to admit that my prediction of zero replies was wrong.

Don't forget to take me with you. I'll even change my religion for that.

you won't experience it as yourself anyway. a reconstituted universe or a multiverse version of yourself is as much a different individual as you are from your childhood self

I can google it, but can you elaborate on this?
The world at the start of time had a certain state in terms of enerygy and position of atoms. From that point on uptil now everything that has happened is predetermined since it can be predicted by Newtonian mechanics. Suppose you have the position and energy of all the atoms in space, you can predict how they move and where they will be at a time say t. Since evrything is made of atoms, you can therefore predict what will happen in the world. Basically like your title, everything that will happen has been determined at the start itself. We dont have free will. It would require a different starting position of atoms to change our fates

Interesting theory. It (kind of) helps explain why I've had many, many dreams that predict particular events the following day with pinpoint precision (No, I'm not a 'New Ageist', nor a lunatic. I'm a very pragmatic realist).

But even if it's not 'you', 'you' can be a different arrangement of molecules with consciousness.
