You should be looking at your character at a deep level- who are you, what type of man are you? Are you a weak, immature person, a coward, someone who escapes?
Or are you someone who is totally honest with yourself, with every uncomfortable thing in you, every drive and desire you have- do you admit your fear and weakness that's stopping you from being who you really could be, do you attack this part of you every day, face it and move forward, to ONLY pursue what it is that you want to be?

Dont fall for the apolitical trap. When people are trying to be intellectuals is the easiest one to go. You will face way less rejection and will be more pleasant to several people but at a cost of your own intellectual honesty. If you have critical sense, honesty and a sense of justice you will have opinions, there is just no way to go. And radical opinions will ALWAYS be rejected by the majority of people, 300 years ago if you were against slavery you would be treated worst than a communist is nowadays.
