Mainly because China has a much superior economy. India has better military structure, more administrative depth and better officers but china's huge manpower and economic strength make it impossible for India to win. maybe if nukes get involved but otherwise India will 100% lose.

The problem for the rest of the World is that, there is no country as yet, on the face of this earth that has the wherewithal to replace China’s manufacturing prowess. So as long as China remains the World’s manufacturing engine, the rest of the World will make sure that China remains stable both economically & politically. After all, it is in their best interest that the Chinese miracle does not fade.
