Depends on the concentration, I have Tretinoin and I have used like 3 tubes over the course of a few months. Yes Tretinoin can cause chemical burns, but if you spot a chemical burn on your skin, it's okay just wash it off and don't apply it on the area for a few days. Also make sure to use moisturizer (wait 10 minutes) - tretinoin (wait 10 minutes) - moisturizer (method)

It will cause a decent amount of peeling. Also make sure to apply sunblock on the area as Tretinoin makes your skin highly sensitive to UV-Rays, darkening that spot.
