Ask me about Indian Cinema in this thread.

Be it a Film recommendation that suits your taste, or a question about the industry, or an Actor, or a Producer.
Whatever it is, take liberty to ask me and I will answer.

Yes, Indian cinema is the most underrated and has the best hidden gems.
I've seen all the good movies, ask me what you want to know.
There are good movies coming this year and next year btw.

Indian cinema is nonsense but Bala makes good films

who's the Martin Scorsese of India
No one

Martin Scorsese is the greatest Filmmaker of ALL time and there is no one else in the world who can match him.

That being said there are several good filmmakers in India in different genres. No one can pull off the diverse mix slew of films that Martin Scorsese has done.

Bollywood refers to the Hindi Language Film industry based out of Bombay (Mumbai).
There are several and I mean several Non-Hindi and Hindi movies that mog 3 idiots.

That being said, the best Bollywood (Hindi) movie is Sholay (1975).

Satyajit Ray isn't as diverse as Scorsese. I've seen all of Satyajit Ray movies and though he is super diverse, isnt as diverse as Scorsese.
Scorsese on the other hand has done a wide, wide variety of genres.

Yes, I know. We were talking Bharati cinema. I have only watched Bollywood movies because I can understand it at least. Tamil movies for instance? I can’t understand.

Highly doubt it!

Never heard of it. Is it in black and white?

You have to trust my word on this

No it is colorized.

I value your input, but then again you also say Martin Scorsese is the best filmmaker of all time, I doubt he could create a good horror movie!

What’s it about? Something about troublemakers?

The mark of a great filmmaker is the diversity of various genres.
Scorsese has 2 beautiful movies in the realm of unsettling feeling/horror, Cape Fear (1991) and Shutter Island (2010).

What’s it about? Something about troublemakers?
Yup. Friendship and Revenge.

Someone kept asking me if I watched Shutter Island already. I haven’t yet. Will check them out eventually. Right now I gotta watch MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Yup. Friendship and Revenge.
Just checked it out. Amitabh Bachan stars in it. And some muzzie is starring as a Sikh. JFL.

Horror is one of the least explored genre, not just in India, but everywhere in the world.

That being said, some good horror movies are:
Raat (1992)
Chandramukhi (2005)
Pizza (2012)
Ratsasan (2018) (not horror per se, but still included this one)

Horror is the worst genre to explore some cinema. Not really sure why a lot of you are into horror.

What are some new Indian movies i can watch with my parents? Comedy genre
Jathi Ratnalu (2021)
Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)
Geeta Govindham (2018)
Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)

Rajkumar Hirani?
Bro say there are 100 different gems of Cinema. Martin Scorsese has touched all of them. Literally the only filmmaker close to that would be Stanley Kubrick.
