I have two theories on why EASTERN pashtuns are so genetically close to dardics, rors,jatts


1.) Eastern pashtuns are just pashtunized dardics that adopted pashtun culture and tongue

Eastern and Western Pashtuns show gradual variation rather than a sharp divide. While Eastern Pashtuns have elevated Ancient Ancestral South Indian (AASI) slightly lower Steppe/Indo-Iranian ancestry compared to Western Pashtuns, they still cluster closer to other Pashtuns than to Dardic groups like Kalash or Pashayi. Y-DNA is also common among them or in other words paternal lineage continuity rather than replacement by Dardic groups. How is this possible if what you are saying is true?

2.) Eastern pashtun tribes just heavily mixed with indics like jatts, rors, and khatris etc etc which then significantly raised their AASI in comparison to their western brothers in afghanistan.

If a lot mixing occurred Eastern Pashtuns would show elevated Steppe ancestry but they actually have less Steppe than Western Pashtuns. Their higher AASI is better explained by localized admixture with ancient IV populations with lower-status South Asian groups like local farmers not elite Indo-Aryan clans like Jatts. Pashtun society is also traditionally endogamous and with strict tribal boundaries which is qaum.. Intermarriage with non-Pashtun especially non-Muslims was rare.

pashto is an east iranic language, and is similar sounding to other eastern iranic languages

Indo aryan languages and iranic languages may be related, but they are distinct enough to form their own literal family trees.

The most isolated and pure aryan indics, are the dardic kalash. If the pashto were South Asians, they wouldn't be pashto, and they would most likely be dardics, speaking an indo aryan Dardic language similar to kalasha. It's really that simple.
