INFLAMMED SKIN? UNEVEN SKIN TONE? NIACINAMIDE + CENTELLA ASIATICA, AKA JORDAN AND PIPPEN

This is a guide to help those who:

  1. Have inflammed and sensitive skin
  2. Have uneven skin tone
  3. Rarely get pimples
  4. Look like this

Im making this thread because no one seems to be talking about one of the easiest softmaxes of all time, niacinamide + centella asiatica.

Using isotretinoin for the skin types I previously mentioned is NOT a smart move, but why?

Isotretinoin is a harsh compound, that would:

  • ABSOLUTELY RAPE inflammed and sensitive skin;
  • Have more side effects than actual results for people with very few pimples. (Same as nuking a whole town just because you need one building gone).

That being said, let's talk about the duo, specifically the sinergy between these two.

Niacinamide 5%-10%

Niacinamide is a water-soluble active ingredient, derived from vitamin B3. It is stable, safe, and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive or acne-prone skin.

How it works
  • Reduces inflammation by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines (proteins that help cells communicate in the immune system)

  • Calms redness and visible capillaries (reduces vasodilation)

  • Evens out skin tone by inhibiting melanosome transfer (melanosome produces and stores melanin)

  • Strengthens skin barrier

  • Improves texture/pores by shrinking enlarged pores caused by inflammation or sebum

Centella asiatica

Centella asiatica is a herbaceous plant native to Asia. In skincare products, the standardized extract is used often in concentrations of 0.5–5% in creams and serums. It is a soothing, repairing, and anti-inflammatory ingredient, ideal for sensitive, red, or damaged skin.

How it works
  • Reduces redness and chronic irritation

  • Repairs damaged barrier by increasing ceramide and collagen production (we all love collagen am I right)

  • Soothes visible capillaries by reducing vascular permeability

  • Improves dull tone (antioxidant)

Let's talk about the sinergy between these two

Niacinamide attacks the core issues (inflammation, pores, tone), while Centella protects and heals to minimize any initial irritation from Niacinamide, leading to faster barrier recovery and sustained calmness. Users often see 40–70% reduction in redness/capillaries in 4–12 weeks, with smoother texture and more even tone, without the risks of stronger actives like retinoids. This combo is especially effective for incipient rosacea or post-acne inflammation, making it a top softmax for subtle but noticeable improvements.

Tips & Warnings

Tips are pretty obvious: eat healthy, workout, drink a lot, rep me.

Warnings, on the other hand, are quite the opposite:
High % niacinamide (10%) can cause initial temporary redness ( start with 5%)
Pure centella can feel sticky
SPF 50+ is MANDATORY every day (BOTH make skin more photosensitive).

Please appreciate the effort I put into this thread. I know it took a lot but I made this on my telephone, and not on my old ass pc, since my dad is using it.

shout niacinamide

talking just to talk
Lol it blows anything out the water in terms of anti inflammatory effects in this context, if you dont have a ton of acne just dose down a bit if you arent a sub 70iq retard

hmmmmm maybe thats why I talked about people that rarely get pimples?

dose down
more like syndrome, why use accutane on low dose if you rarely get pimples ( 90% of the cases its a diet problem), just stop eating like shit

Diets effect on inflammation within skin is truly laughable, its all pretty much detirmined by sebum, which is mostly controlled by androgenocity

The correlation between acne in men & dhea's is almost as strong as the correlation between foot length and shoe size btw. Because the absolute main driver of sebaceous gland activity is androgenocity, not diet, and after androgenocity comes igf not diet

Youre fucking retarded

alright, eat like shit for the next month and tell me how your skin is going to look like. You joined way before me, you should know a lot more than me, and yet, youre retarded.

Yeah lets try to discredit science with a hypothetical anecdote

can u not just use azelaic acid for uneven skin tone doesnt it do literally the same thing

azelaic acid is an optimal choice. Its results are pretty similar to niacinamide and centella, with the main difference that the azelaic acid can be harsher and cause purging in the first weeks, while the other 2 are a lot safer and more stable. Choice is up to you

Can you use niacinamide for a big nose?
its going to reduce the inflammation on the nose, kind of like hydrocortisone. Just use niacinamide since its safer and you can use it on the entire face. But choice is obviously up to you
