Tbqh. I believe that being confident is nearly always unreasonable because as humans its pretty much impossible to understand complex things entirely. So even if I have studied a lot for a test, still I wont be confident because my performance may be influenced by a lot of other things apart from the time i've spent studying, things I probably dont even know about.

Insecurity on the other hand leads to a more open mindset, since you know that you dont know everything, and thus progress becomes more likely. But that works only to an extent. Insecurity is good, but can be detrimental if its too much, because it prevents you of taking action.
