Ever notice that strangers seem like they’re living a perfect life? If you aren't subhuman, people see you that way as well.
The problem is that "perfect" people are intimidating, and that blocks the connection.
To fix this, you can break the perfect persona using the:
Pratfall Effect:
sharing a minor flaw of yours to show you’re human and break the ''perfect persona''
Example: (excuse the retard reaction to it)
In this example Tina is already looking human and broke her ''perfect persona'' by crying
- Mikey Starts the conversation by using Pratfall: telling her about the restaurant he works at has an exploding toilet -> he admits his job is shitty breaking his perfect persona, This levels the playing field, now hes not intimidating anymore and they can share a connection now
(Warning -> in this example he lists like 5 things going wrong cause hes trying to level to her playing field (shes crying and you have to overcompensate for that) )
Also If you share something personal or "low-status" (like a broken toilet or a bad day), the other person feels a subconscious urge to match that level of honesty. It fast-tracks a conversation from small talk to the opportunity for a real connection.
when using this irl only do it with slight funny flaws that are relatable and only use it on people you seem to intimidate like girls etc.
Pratfall is perfect for high dimo intimidating looking people
Studying charismatic characters is huge in improving social skills and nobody ever talks about it
Good luck lowering your inhib
