Most of the music I listen to still has lyrics (edm - seems to be less instrumentals now), but that's just cos it's more common
Tracks with little or no vocals are better than ones dominated by singing (at least in edm with vocals, there is still an instrumental drop). But vocals and lyrics are usually just nonsense
An instrumental track allows you to focus on the music, and takes more skill to create a feel tbh
