Intellectual Q&A: What range of caring do you have (moral development q&a)

1. Ego-Centric

  • Characteristics:
    • Strong focus on self-interest and survival.
    • Limited empathy or concern for others unless they directly affect the individual.

2. Group-Centric

Focus: One’s immediate social or cultural group (e.g., ethnic group, race, tribe, nation, religion, or other collective identity).

  • Definition: Prioritizes the well-being, values, and interests of one’s group, often seeing it as superior to or in competition with other groups.
  • Characteristics:
    • Strong in-group loyalty and cohesion.
    • Can encompass ethno-centrism, nation-centrism, or religious group identities.
    • Tends to view outsiders as "other" or less important.

3. Human-Centric

Focus: Humanity as a whole.
