Interesting effects of how you were raised

I was raised religious. Im not anymore, but one thing i noticed is that your past will always stay with you in a way.

Despite what many of you think of me, i have a massive guilty conscience, and i actually think alot of that was a result of religious programming.

You dont suddenly let go of morals. Even if you leave religion, its physically difficult for you to “sin”, because it goes against what was taught to you at such a young age.

I think if i was raised atheist i would have much less of a moral conscience.

Yep,i had this exact conversation with my friends and i couldnt logically explain it but something in me, even if i had an opportunity to steal a wallet and get away with it, it kinda hurts my chest and feels wrong in ways you cant put to words
