[GUIDE]

Evaluate a products effects every 6 weeks. This is because a skin cycle is every 6 weeks. You should wait 6 weeks before you start to introduce a new active ingredient. Take a good quality selfie every 2 weeks in natural light to see progress.

(Skin cycle 1) [0-6 weeks]

Start by applying half a finger tip every 3 days, then depending on how your skin reacts increase or decrease usage by a day.

(Skin cycle 2) [6-12 weeks]

At this point you should have worked up to applying every other night. It is still important to keep your routine simple not using other products that could decrease the efficacy of the ingredient.

(Skin cycle 3) [12-18 weeks]

At this stage you should have built up a tolerance where you can apply every night or every other night comfortably

Good thread op ( perfect timing for me lol ), but what about sunscreen, how often and when exactly should it be applied, before or after tretinoin ?

After tretinoin. Should be a European brand (if outside us) should be applied every 2 hours ideally.

Even if I don't get outside that day? I meant if I apply tretinoin before getting to sleep at night, do I still need sunscreen then?

thanks fat tyler

Don't need to put on before bed. But houses have windows so it's good practice

Been 3 -4 months on 0.05% and it still stings if I put it on for 3 days in a row

Each skin type reacts differently. This is just a general guide recommended by a dermatologist.

holy fuck time to rope

have there been any studies proving it or is it just hear say

is it hair loss like a bit of shedding from too much vitamin A or is it serious

If you value your health above all, don't use retin-a or any medication for that matter.

Accutane causes hairloss for sure, but retin-a is debatable depedning on how much vitamin A is in your system (diet). If ur taking upwards of 10k iu than u will experience hairloss, if ur lacking or have slightly higher vitamin A you wont shed. Been on retin a for a year now havent noticed hair loss. Infact retin a can be beneficial for hair loss if u use topicals (minox, etc)

good thread op, do u know if u should use occlusive skincare creams like infodolan or vaseline after moisturizing? I use retin a and I just mosturize but I heard other posters say if u don't use occlusive creams u will fuck up ur moisture barrier.

I follow a minamilist skincare routine. Cleanse - active ingredient - moisturize
The skincare world is complex and confusing. I try not to bog myself down with heresay and focus on what I see working. In saying that It could definitely be beneficial to your skin type. Niacinamide and retin A is all I'll be using for the near future and cerave moisturizer and cleanser + laroche posay sunscreen.
