ur not finding a job in the uk but ib will have you swimming in money relatively quick but the hours will burn you quick that’s why you see a lot of young guys go into ib and then dip out to private equity law is kinda shit in the beginning and it takes too long to be qualified but in the long run you can make some good money especially when your a partner but that could be when you’re 35+

I feel like law takes too long, I personally want to go into ib so I might be biased

RN deciding the same shit between law and ib cause both pay good but the thing is ib have tons of bonuses and shit which will set you up so might actually do IB or VC

Feel like you need to do ib before vc because that’s where they mainly hire from. But doing a solid 2 years at a good firm will open up so many doors, one of my uncles became a cfo at 35 but he also got his cfa and was insanely talented as well

the thing is if you can handle it IB is far better

Get into a target first nigger

this has been discussed ad nauseum in WSO but TLDR IB > LAW

better exits, in most cases better $$$ and for sure more interesting work

I will say if you didn't go to a Russel Group in the UK or T-20 in the US you're better of trying something else, its doable to break in but not worth the time investment

edit: for UK if you're diversity then RG uni is enough in some cases, if you're white, you prolly need S or A tier uni to get in. Apply to SEO London and minoritymaxx
