Is it worth doing Invisalign to correct an overbite before considering bimax and genioplasty? Not sure how much I can ascend with orthodontics without a surgery and wouldn’t want to waste time/money since from my understanding I would require to do Invisalign after the surgery anyway

Invisalign only corrects a SLIGHT overbite
If its visible, you will not be able to correct it unless you have those ugly ass rubber bands

Id do invisalign before the bimax tho ofc. I had crowded teeth and invisalign fixed it in only slightly over a year

Did you have ortho when you were younger? You might need a combination of ortho plus bimax but the amount of time in braces depends on what your surgeon wants. Sometimes if you had ortho when younger they want to decompensate you other times they do a portion of ortho pre bimax then final movements after the surgery. You need to talk to a bimax surgeon and get their opinion.

Nope, I never had glaring issues with my teeth so I’ve never seen an ortho (which is a shame really). I have a slight overbite that fucks up my entire face, my dentist told me I would be a good candidate for Invisalign but it would be purely cosmetic as I don’t have any other problems. As for the surgeon, Dr. Safi for example, how would orthodontics work if I live in Canada? Do I need to get some kind of guidance from the surgeon for what to correct specifically or a good orthodontist would know what to do anyway? I am 22 btw so I shouldn’t have dramatic changes in my bone structure but idk if it would be worth getting my overbite fixed first

Do you have a dental or skeletal class II? You don't need ortho prep for surgery with Safi if your bite is good.
