I don't think it's either tbh. But it's closer to what you see in the mirror.
I have eye asymmetry and my friends generally don't notice. But multiple times when i've been with a friend in front of a mirror, they've pointed out that my eyes look wonky. And they only seem to see it when i'm facing the mirror.

The front camera is mirrored so people in person see the opposite. Like @ProAcktiv said you'll notice more of your imperfections than anyone else will.
