There was some study a long time ago that found that the most popular kids at school had an average IQ of around 115. Going higher or lower than that was a weakness.

If you are too high IQ, you have trouble communicating and relating with people. Ideal communication happens with people within 10 IQ points. So someone with an IQ of 115 has just enough smarts to appeal to the above average peers, but not enough to be confusing.
