Yes at the micro individual layer, looks, sex, money matter more. But at the societal macro layer, IQ is everything.

In particular it is the geniuses that are 4 standard deviations above the mean (160 IQ) that progress civilisation as a whole.

Even if everyone on Earth was 140-145 IQ, so no low IQ people but also no higher than 145 IQ people, we would be in the same position today

Everyone at 130 IQ, we'd be stuck in the 1900s at best.

Everyone at 120 IQ, no industrial revolution

And everyone at 100-110, stuck in the bronze age.

160+ IQ people matter magnitudes more than 130-150 IQ people to scale and execute ideas and below that, people barely matter in advancing civilisation. It's all maintenance like plumbing (which is very important).

Good point but as society progresses it becomes more and more specialised and lower IQ people (or let's say non high IQ) become less needed

E.g. smart farmer who owned the land who employees a load of farmers, they are needed

Henry ford invented the assembly line, but need the men to use the tools

Tech companies etc, with computer programming, can do the job of loads of what would have been individual normal IQ workers so not needed. The meta employees are like the 130-150IQ in this example, below that there's nothing other than customer service
