how did they conduct it? is it the figures of people who have taken the mensa iq test because that will be inflated because no low iq curry will pay for an iq test or did they jus conduct it at schools?:feelswat:

Data from International IQ Test (IIT) are based on data from 1,352,763 participants worldwide who took the same IQ test on the website in 2024.
Substantial research on the subject of national IQs was conducted by psychologist Richard Lynn (1930-2023), working alongside the late Tatu Vanhanen (1929-2015) or, for 2019’s The Intelligence of Nations, with David Becker.

This is just an online test. It’s not a random sample and easy to cheat on as well

Like obviously India is not gonna have a higher IQ than Sweden and Norway that’s a sanity fail result

makes sense the test must have been conducted in high class schools so the national average would be lower no?

The test is you posted has also been called out by reddit too



PISA/TIMSS, which test ~half a million kids globally is used in that paper you linked but India skipped PISA 2022 due to COVID) and 2009 results of Tamil Nadu 351 math Himachal Pradesh 338) equate to ~77 IQ raw which is what the paper arrived at.

Yeah Lynn was a bit of a schizo but his results somehow do converge on stuff like the PISA/TIMSS more generally (I think he actually had India’s IQ as higher at like 83-84).

The point of his IQ measurements and the Pisa isn’t to test the genetic potential of a country obv. If a country has a ton of illiteracy and bad nutrition that’s going to bring down their phenotypic IQ substantially even if that’s doesn’t really reflect their “genetic” IQ potential. Maybe India would be similar to the UAE in an ideal environment without poor nutrition and illiteracy (in the 88-90 range).

well the results dont even matter cause no poor curry is taking these tests and they are going to lower the average by a substantial amount and there are not many poor people in norway
