In well-trained armies, soldiers are trained to bury mines in the ground so that enemies can't see them, because if they do see them, they avoid them. It seems that hiding mines is a waste of time if your enemy is Russia.

Appearently these type of vehicles have poor visibility of the ground and needed some sort of forward operator to scout the premises before any movement can be done. So this is likely not solely not just a incompetent driver.

also maybe the APC was being driven by an untrained soldier (russia is pushing everyone to fight nowadays)

One has to be a truly retard if he's driving an APC in a warzone and doesn't realize what these things lying on the road are. Also very untrained too, but then again, the Russian military doesn't have good training.

We don't know that for sure. The explosion's shockwave might have caused internal bleeding. At the end of the video, his head is between his knees, which would indicate that he isn't in good health.
