I recently took an IQ test and got 110 (my country's average is 100). Why can't I study school subjects? Doesn't an above average IQ mean fast learning?

IQ is a broad term, just because you have high IQ doesn't mean you will do good academically

using the iq bell curve your iq isnt that high

100-110 is 34% of the data so you are on the higher end but it's still kinda average

Firstly, the national average IQ is always set at 100, which is normed specifically on that population.

An IQ score of 110 is relatively high and places you above about 75% of the population.
However, this level isn’t so exceptional that you can be lazy and rely on intelligence alone without studying to get good grades.
Even at an IQ of 120-125 it would still be challenging to perform well academically if you don’t put in any effort.


Think of IQ in terms of height percentiles. With an IQ of 110, you’d be in a similar percentile as someone around 6 feet tall- above average, enough for height not to be a problem in dating.
But it wouldn’t be enough to stand out or rely on that trait alone to be successful.

Maybe at around 125-130 you cross that bridge but even then it’s not set in stone.

Also how’s your working memory and processing speed? Both are crucial for school work.
Maybe your profiles just relatively unbalanced.
