theoretically, yes. since iq tests usually only test a certain skill set, just train urself for those skills. my question would be why?

because ''high iq'' sounds cool
this post is making me doubt ur iq brother, but just say u're high iq then. no one's gonna ask to see ur results. 130 is high anyways, idk why u'd wanna raise it to 140

yeah it's socially isolating. it's just as painful as having an intellectual disability imo. the world just isn't coded in our language

intellectual giftedness overlaps with symptoms of autism, adhd, anxiety disorders and behavioral disorders. that's actually how they got the idea that i might be intellectually gifted. i've always been a "smart kid" but don't have "genius" written on my forehead. it's when my mental health spiraled and my results for the disorders mentioned above always landed right above or right below the cut-off, that they tested my IQ

might be interesting so i'll write out some of those overlaps since i don't see it talked about frequently.

autism overlap:
- difficulty connecting to peers, no interest in peers
- special interests
- language not appropriate for age group

adhd:
- bored easily or easily distracted; daydreaming
- multi-tasking
- working in a hasty or nonchalant manner

anxiety:
- overthinking, worrying
- nightmares and difficulty sleeping
- negative thoughts like seeing danger everywhere or having a negative future perspective

behavioral:
- challenging rules
- rebellious behavior
- problems with authority

ofc everyone has those in moderation. it just becomes a pathology when it impacts ur life quality
just like it's okay to have high blood sugar once in a while without automatically being considered diabetic

I'm pretty sure OP is trying to say he wants to actually become more intelligent, not become better at IQ tests.

So yeah, obviously, practising IQ tests would increase your IQ test score but that wouldn't actually make you more intelligent.

But I could be completely wrong and OP literally just wants a higher IQ test score. So who knows.

How much do you score in academic leaning?

i explained it further in other replies. I was just a little confused because of the exact numbers he used. both 130 and 140 are incredible IQ scores. but if u wanna become more intelligent, expose urself to more information. intelligence and IQ aren’t the same thing though since it has been shown plenty times that IQ tests don’t measure a person’s full skill set. it’s just a generalisation in the same way as a BMI is

u mean my IQ? it’s around 120. that’s all I know cuz i never chose to look into the different components of the test results.

academically, I did pretty well as a child. I don’t think I ever scored anything under 9/10 in elementary school. I was really fatigued by the time I started middle school by just being bored in class my whole life. I took the most difficult classes I could through middle school but still never had to study to get a decent result. my scores dropped for those difficult subjects though, cuz i was really half assing it. skipped a grade in high school in hopes of a challenge, nope. switched to art school and i think that was the first time i did feel “challenged” cuz of how subjective art is. it’s just testing a different skill set. by that time i was mentally challenged (lol) too cuz of my declining mental health. and now in art university i’m probably doing worse than my NT peers cuz of mental health issues
