it's the one recommanded for women because 5% gave them facial and body hair , so i thought that maybe 2% minoxidil has more of a local effect instead of going too systemic

would it work well if combined with daily microneedling for absorption ? a small density increase would be enough to fix my hair

No that's weak af. Many don't get any regrowth on 5% either. And i havent heard of many stories of 5% min going systemic, that's oral min

i think you're referring to minoxidil without dermaroller which is indeed pretty shit even with 5%

but there are actually many insane success stories on hairloss forums from minoxidil + dermaroller , so that's why i'm asking maybe 2% can be enough when you're dermarolling

I think most of those success sotries are with 5% min, nobody uses 2% that's just too weak. I really dont think you should worry about 5% going systemic, never heard anyone complain about that

yes they are all with 5% , but if 5% + microneedling can give insane results then 2% + microneeling should give atleast half of that which would be enough for my case

I've had excellent regrowth in the crown area with 2% minoxidil once a day, before going to bed.
Only took 2-3 months, too. I did microneedling too (once a week, 1.5mm needle).

Although in my case I'm not entirely sure it was MPB since I started getting natural regrowth way before starting minoxidil, once I fixed my seborrheic dermatitis and stopped scratching and pulling my hair all the time.

But it's not guaranteed to give insane results, many others dont get any regrowth. Give 2% a try but you might waste a few months if it doesnt work

Why had? Why did you quit it?

I'm taking 2.5mg oral with no side effects and good results

Ok, a little bit of faster heartbeats when excercising, but nothing compared to the side effects of 5mg

What are the results, any hypertrichosis

I'm already kind of hairy so can't judge on my body. But on my face, no. Maybe the eyebrows got thicker that's all

I'm still using it. I'm at the 4th month rn; max gains should be at around 1 year of use if I'm not wrong, but I'm already satisfied tbh.
Only issue is that you need to keep using it to keep your gains, but frankly it's not a big deal, I usually put it on my scalp before bed and let it dry as I brush my teeth. The whole thing (minox+teeth) takes 5 minutes tops.

did it gave you skin aging / collagen loss or dark circles ?

Cant judge.. I did have noticable skin aging recenly, but I am 32 so there is natural aging, and also I had a recent stressful event. But it could be the minox, cant rule that out

In any case, hair >>> skin

Idk I use the liquid one. The bottle has a thin, narrow spraying thing that's really useful to apply it precisely.

No side effects at all.
