2 sets till failure is best. dont overdo else youll just lose strength

Generally speaking sets/week is more important than sets/session but 4 sets of 12 is a lot of volume. Will not be effective for most people because the CNS and muscle fatigue after the first sets will significantly reduce your output. 2 sets to failure is almost certainly better for the vast majority of splits
 
1x till failure worked better for me rather than 2x failure. I put all my strenght into that set until i see shapes and vivid colors afterwards
