i think doing 14 12 10 8 is ideal for building muscle. its what ive been doing and helps toward the end quite a bit.

Either one.. totoal volume and progressive ovrload is what matters @ the end of the day. 5x5 are good for brginners cuz heavy loads trains thr movement and cns more efficiently and beginners can progress in weight by simply gettimg the motor pathways down

if youre intermediate level, id suggest alternating (so if you do push pull legs for example you would have
5x5 push, 5x5 pull, 5x5 legs, rest, 10x3 push, 10x3 pull, 10x3 legs)

Depends on your goals I suppose. That split doesnt seen optimal for strength gains.
