thinking about joining one and i cant tell if its actually useful or if people just hype it up. im not in one right now. i dont really have a friend group, never had a gf, and college so far is just class and going home.

the idea is obvious. parties, girls, people who have to know you, something to do. i also keep hearing its expensive, a time sink, and a lot of guys still end up with nothing to show for it except dues and hazing stories.

if you were in one, did it actually do anything for your social life or dating, or did you just become friends with the same 10 dudes. and if you skipped it, did you miss anything real.

not trying to join the biggest party house on campus. just trying to figure out if this is a normal way to stop being invisible or if im better off putting that money and time into the gym and actually talking to people myself.

if you are a social person and love drinking 24/7 and constantly partying and you're willing to endure hazing then sure its a good idea
