its a legit base

you will be training your excel/google sheet skills
be relied on to provide financial details

you can pivot to other roles from accounting

im guessing you either straight up start out in accounting or doing accounts payable/receivables

No, a random free accounting website could prob do ur job

long post but i think u should read through it.

Accounting in itself is big money. but not right away. it takes years of building a client network. how most accounts make money is by actually creating accounting firms and having employees and a client network. and the max money u will ever realistically reach would be in the early millions, maybe 40-50 million at max. after that, u will simply be eaten by serious players out there like big players like major firms.

this isn't a lawyer job where u r wanted for who u r. but an accounting job where u r simply wanted for a task.

this also means years of efforts and constantly crunching numbers in excel and accounting softwares. u also need a CFA certification on top of it.

but here's the deal. in the 10 years or so that it will take for u to reach that level, do u think the level of advancement we r having in the field of technology will postively impact ur career prospects or negatively affect u?

think about it.

the cons i know u have already googled the fuck out of them so there is no point in me mentioning them but u know it.

frankly answer these questions for urself.

Do you think ai will replace most accounting job spots? Tbh im not sure what other jobs i can consider. Im not smart enough or disciplined enough for something like CS and thats the most in demand rn. What jobs do you think will never be out of demand and are generally worth the time invested?

Female dominated university classes and high ish pay, seems like a winner to me.

it can never FULLY replace humans because some legendary accountants just know the right loopholes but to a large extent accounting software is rendering so many lower-level accountants useless so take what u will from that

what are the options u even had in mind. have u explored ur actual real interests or read more into fields and industries which u thought were cool?
and when i mean read, i mean read into it on a deeper level and not a high level overview?

"Fully" replace, but if with AI 1 person can do work of 10 people, it means 9 people have been replaced.

thats what i literally wrote son. it didnt fully replace accountants.

fully replace accountants in that scenario would be rendering all of the 10 accountants useless

i havent had many options on my mind and thats my fault. Im 18, and i thought accounting was definitely going to be my career path but i dont want to make the wrong decision that will cost me my time to be wasted. I only had a backup plan of joining the police force or studying and practicing day trading along with a manual job like uber , if accounting goes wrong. Im honestly not knowledgeable on any real tech industries other than mainstream ones that have been proposed to me like CS. However i am someone that is super curious and get’s interested in whatever i do, wanting to improve in it. My interests from when i was young that i actually looked deeply into, are not good for making money since they are mostly simple physical activities like basketball, weightlifting and filmmaking. All industries with low pay and/or limited spots in job availability.

good that u r being responsible for ur actions im mirin that

i understand what u mean by being into filmmaking and sports. i was too. they are very fun activities to invest time in. ive learnt from experience filmmaking is something u do when u want to say a story not because u want to make a film. it gets some time to understand it when u ask urself why u actually want to make a movie.
all legendary filmmakers pursued it as a passion for telling stories not for making "movies" and selling "tickets".

and second, i think you want to explore a lot of things but u dont know where to start. totally understandable.
tell u what, tell me a number from 1 to 9 and i'll tell u a very technical thing to look into and learn about. and after that u can decide if u dont like it or like a branch of it and move forward.

Yeah thats apart of what intrigued me about filmmaking, its the ability to convey a story in whatever way you want through so many thing (editing, shooting, acting, sound/music and visually etc, great example is oppenheimer). I love that most filmmakers have a personal connection/link to their stories and you can tell whos film it is just by the unique way they direct their films.

Ill pick number 1. Also another reason accounting interested me is because i heard that it is one of those jobs that you can use to branch out to multiple different jobs. So i thought if the accounting industry goes redundant, at least ill have a lot of useful knowledge on different finnancial topics that can be useful for applying to other jobs, also i thought the things you learn in accounting would be useful for everyday life also, like learning to manage finnances, understanding how to exploit taxes and organise.

I got into my firm uni choice to do an accounting degree 2 months ago but decided to take a gap year because uni tuition fees are going up 50% + the uncertainty that accounting is even the right choice for me considering AI presence in the future and its other cons. So this gap year im just tryna consider many industries while i work a part time job saving and investing money that ill need in the future.

Also for what your studying, does it interest you? I think you said biochemistry or something?

oppenheimer is a shit movie. u need to watch more movies son. @Manletmachine
Ill pick number 1.
Bio-inspired artificial muscles using Electroactive Polymers (EAPs) for Advanced Prosthetics. this would involve learning EAP-based (electroactive polymer) muscles, biomechanical integration, sensor integration, and machine learning control.

i think the job u r looking for is consulting.

I agree its very useful to be able to persuade anyone.

The guy in the first vid seems pretty optimistic tho 😂

i got a degree in accounting from a top state school but now i just sit at home and jerk off and smoke cigs. NEET lifestyle is superior. if you desire a cozy lifestyle and arent willing to put in the work like me i would recommend you dont go to college and instead optimize your NEET lifestyle ASAP (passive income, government gibs, shoplifting practice. etc..) . its better than wasting 3/4 years like me getting a worthless degree.
