Is accutane only for 'really bad' acne and will topical tretanoin be enough to clear me completely?

I know people say accutane mogs topical shit to death but like everyone else I’m scared of sides. While my skin has improved over the last year by cleaning diet and in turn my gut I still have very noticeable acne which has been in those spots for a long time. Sure its cool to have little to no sides but if topical tretanoin just doesnt provide results that is also shit.

With that being said I know there are much worse cases hence my question about which route I should go.

yours is pretty bad I'd do 20mg for 4-6 months then 10mg until it's cleared

Accutane is the best option for acne

I never took accutane, my derma prescribed minocycline instead a few years back. I was skeptical but i said fuck it. Its not as potent as accutane ive heard. After ~ 1 year my acne cleared up fully, but i wasnt too consistent with it.

My acne came back early this year 2-fold and so went to derm again. I got tret and azelaic acid (real good for PIH/PIE). It feels like im overloading my face cuz it pills like crazy when i shower but its been working little by little (less acne, but still got spots that are still fading slowly).

Like most know accunate is a nuclear treatment with sides that I didnt really want when i first got asked. It works fast I assume

i got it illegally and still used it with super minimal acne, horrific side effects but it shrunk my nose, and i havent gotten a pimple in like a year

Idk just made that up ur acne isnt very severe so I’d expect a shorter time

16 and i was on a variety of other drugs. Im 17 rn. I do 10mg eod just for less oil and better skin.
