Getting drunk is overrated, most people do it because their life is miserable or they're too high inhib to approach women without alcohol.
Glad I stopped drinking.

It's a poison. It gets into your blood stream and poisons and kills every organ, including your skin. It's a looks min. There's some evidence that red wine has anti-oxidants but there are much safer and less harmful ways to get anti-oxidants such as vegetables.

If you want a very high level of antioxidants drink decaffeinated coffee. Caffeine ages you, but coffee has high levels of antioxidants which fight free radical damage (one of the types of aging), which is why coffee is a net positive and coffee drinkers live longer, but decaf without sugar is even healthier. Decaf doesn't remove all caffeine, but more than 95% of it.

Alright. I'm actually reading like a ton of books on it. Once I'm done reading and researching I'll drop a guide.

At the moment some big things: Exercise daily, Short bursts with rest, do what feels comfortable don't push yourself to discomfort but do exercise everyday, avoid caffeine (including preworkouts), minimize stress, keep a positive attitude (to minimize the effects of stress), avoid all high glycemic foods, the only good fruits are Avocados and tomatoes, avoid all processed foods. You should be eating a mix of vegetables, many different colors, and a mix of meats. For fish, avoid bigger fish because they have higher levels of mercury. Dont' eat fish everyday because of the mercury content, but do eat a few times a week. Tuna is bad, avoid (mercury). Salmon is good. Get 10 mins of sunlight everyday for sleep quality. The reason you have to do a mix of vegetables is because they contain different toxins which your body filters out in different ways, but has limited capacity for, so if you eat too much of any one vegetable you could get stomach cancer. Also a mix will give you more nutrients that you need.

Eat only in an 8 hour window (or less) to increase autophagy which reverses some forms of aging. Eating only one meal a day spikes insulin too high and causes swelling in the body and other negative effects, so optimal is either two or three meals but in a six or eight hour window.

Stress is big, so methods for lowering include 12 mins meditation a day (which has been shown reduce telomere loss by 50%), as well as taking time everyday to think about what you are grateful for, and having a compassionate view towards everything, and especially not complaining. It doesn't mean being unrealistic about your problems, but viewing them as challenges that you have the opportunity to overcome, or some other more positive frame.

Then obvious stuff, like avoid alcohol, smoking, steroids, anything that messes with your hormones, staying up late, etc.

Good post. Got any book recs?

How bad is staying up late?
Sleep is the body's primary method of repair, the deep sleep phase specifically for tissue repair. Staying up late disrupts that repair process but also disrupts the circadian rhythm which destroys future ability to get good reparative sleep. All of this accelerates aging.

You can see it in the faces of some one who stayed up all night, how they look like shit with ugly dry older looking skin, even after just one night. lol.

In addition will power is lowered with loss of quality sleep which could lead to eating junk food or other poor choices that would accelerate aging even further in a viciousness feedback loop.
Also smoking weed is looksmin also?
I don't know. Lowered stress could be a benefit. Destroyed cognitive abilities could lead to poor health choices. I would rather lower my stress with safer methods that don't have as bad of a down side, such as mediation or yoga.

Good post. Got any book recs?
I never picked up a book that was rated highly on amazon that I didn't learn something new from. So any book that's rated good on, sleep, nutrition, etc. is worth reading. One book on any subtopic of health is not enough, good to read at least three.

I follow the same principles when picking a book, however I purchased one last month by Joe Dispenza, and the reviews were like 4.8/5 and I swear to god 20% of the book was just a sales pitch to attend his retarded seminars, god that guy is a jew and his followers are delusional, not a good look.

Where did you read one meal a day raises insulin btw?

Damn. Another metric that may help. Is this show, "Impact theory" Created by the creator of quest energy bar.

Essentially if some one does an interview on this show, then they are full of fluff and basic knowledge, and incorrect bullshit and their books would be worthless to read. Just a pattern I noticed.

But also, I never read books by career authors (aka career bullshitters). They have to be practicing in their field as their primary job, which means not just degrees but also a life of actual practical hands on experience, preferable in a clinical setting. Otherwise you'll get theoretical bullshit that sounds good, but is practically worthless.

This doesn't mean that they will parrot industry bullshit, smart people will often have their own ideas about how their industry is wrong, and if they are not calling out the bullshit in their own industry then that's another red flag, because there is plenty of bullshit in every industry.

For example I recently read two skin care books, one written by a chemical engineer that researchers and engineers skin care products and another written by professional dermatologist that's been working in the industry for his entire life, and has a client roster full of Hollywood celebrities. Getting both perspectives allowed me to see where each of them was probably bullshitting to sell their own products, as well as the overlap area that most likely is effective skincare.

Checking on a fake review checker website can sometimes give some insite as well.

Above is for one of Joe Dispenza's books. It looks like he seeded his reviews initially with positive reviews. When people see other positive reviews, they are more likely to continue to give positive reviews because of the banwagon effect, although the average review rating did decline after that. I personally haven't really run my books I choose through this, in the past, maybe I should.

However I do always read at least 10 or so of the 1 star reviews. This usually tells me everything I need to know. For example in Joe Dispenza's books the one star reviews talk about how it's basic knowledge about meditation and positive thinking, wrapped up in pseudoscience, with the goal of getting you to attend expensive seminars. I do read one star reviews, but hadn't realized how important reading them is until now. Often you'll disagree with the logic presented in the 1 star reviews.

How bad would a cycle of accutane be for you?
I have no idea but it's going to have many more effects in your body than just your skin because it effects Epithelium cell division. This isn't just your skin, but the tissues lining your blood vessels and organs.

It may increase suicidal ideation, and have other unknown effects. The FDA requires a warning of possible psychiatric effects.

It's been used since the 80s but there are many other legal supplements that have been in use much longer that have very bad long term side effects that are not yet recognized or noted by the scientific community. The way FDA approval works for prescription drugs, is a few month trial and see if it solved the problem and didn't kill any one in those few months. No one is tracking the long term effects of these drugs and supplements, and we really don't know all the different things they are doing in the body because as much as every generation thinks they have solved all the mysteries of human biology, there really is much MORE that we don't understand about human biology than what we do understand. Anytime you take something like this in your body, you are taking unknown long term risks.

I'd try exfoliating with an acne exfoliator, cleansing, and moisturizing twice a day for a few months, with a cleaned up diet, effective stress mitigation strategy (ex: 15 mins meditation daily or 15 mins yoga daily) + daily exercise, and good sleep for a few months first. If you can get your health in working order to solve the problem, you may not even have to take the risk.

Exfoliate and then cleanse in that order to clear out debre that could be clogging your pores causing black heads and pimples, along with the other suggestions.

If all that fails, then you could talk to you doctor about accutane.

Thanks for the detailed response man. I have already been cleansing and moisturizing. The dermatologist has me on an antibiotic right now to try to get rid of the acne, but if it doesn't work then they want me to go on Accutane.

coffee drinkers live longer because coffee promotes autophagy :feelshmm:

Glad I stopped drinking.
How do you approach girls without drinking? I either have to drink or take phenibut or else I’ll feel to uptight. I’m trying to stop but cold approaching feels like such a chore when I’m sober.

Why do you think fruits are bad and only those few are food
I change my position on fruit. It's good in moderation, but for some of us fruit is easy to consume too much of and get fat so we have to be carful about portion sizes.

As far as processed food...

When food is processed, the manufactures have to minimize cost and maximize the shelf life, which means they will do many things to make it last longer and cost less that will make it less healthy.

They also have it make addictive so that people consume as much of it as possible, otherwise they will get out competed and go out of business. So they will add extra sugar, salt or other chemicals that are damaging to the body in the quantities that they add. People naturally over consume this addictive food and become obese.

Because of costs, short grain wheat is often used is processed foods. Short grain wheat grows faster than long grain, so it costs less and is pretty much always chosen when a processed food needs a wheat product. Short grain wheat was genetically engineered in the mid 20th century. It has been proven in studies to shred all humans intestines and leak directly into the blood stream before it's fully broken down. This results in internal inflammation as the body treats the foreign particles as an infection, which is body wide including the brain. This inflammation damages the body including damage to the brain. Once the grains have passed through you, the wholes in your intestines that they shredded will still be there for a week or more while your body tries to heal. During this time other food particles will pass through these wholes cause more inflammation and more internal damage. Because they are in your blood stream some of those particles will pass into your brain, damaging that as well.

Another way that good manufactures make a food more addictive is by designing the balance of ingredients so that it has a high glycemic index. This means that it is broken down in the body quickly, and quickly converted to energy (unlike fruits and vegtables). This spikes blood sugar, and now there's two much sugar in the blood. Some of the extra sugar binds to all your organs and forms what are called advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs). Many of these AGEs can not be broken down by the body and contribute towards aging, including in the skin where they make your skin older. But your body doesn't want this, so it's working hard to convert the extra sugar into fat. This makes you become fatter. Then you use of the sugar that's left with energy, and you're out of blood sugar. You become hungry again, leading to over eating. So in summary, high glycemic foods make you fatter, hungrier, and accelerate aging and food manufactures profit more when they make their food a higher glycemic index, so they will do this.

These are just a few examples of the things food manufactures do. There are many long books written about all the damage these toxic "foods" do your body, so that companies can make more money. The Coke cola company has actually spent millions of dollars to pay scientists and other public initiatives to shift the focus away from food and towards exercise, and their campaign has been very successful.

As far as nuts, they are very easy to over-eat and over consume, and get fat off of because they are so small and calorie dense. They are alright in moderation but not as the main dish of a meal, and dangerous to snack on, as far as getting fat.

I don't really "approach" girls tbh but you just have to practice and learn how to get comfortable talking to random people in general. Cold approaching is shit anyways.

Hell no. If you don't drink, you are a boring NERRRRDDDD and that's a huge looksmin

People underestimate the damage caused by heavy drinking and overestimate the damage of light drinking
