i started drinking every day a couple of months ago and, in the beginning, it would make my evenings pretty enjoyable, but it only makes me depressed and neurotic now

great, another cope to write off as inefficient

I drank alcohol a few times like a year ago, haven't since. It's a very meh drug. It's kinda situational, and I think it depends on the amount of food you have in your stomach. Preferably you need to have eaten a carb and fat rich food 1 hours before drinking, it will make the alcohol hit slow and it feels better like this cause alcohol only has "euphoria" (it isn't really consistent) when its in the first stages, the buzz basically, and you need to prolong the buzz as much as possible with lots of food in your stomach so it doesn't hit too fast

yeah, i'd say this is true based on my experience during these 3-4 months

i've also been abusing klonopin and xanax for years prior to this phase, and they act similarly to alcohol, i think (binding to gabaa receptors), so most of the tolerance to benzos translates to ethanol; been averaging between 1.5 l and 2 l of white wine per day and didnt get really drunk once

also, the longer i drink, the harder it is to get those enjoyable effects. i guess it's better to just be active throughout the day and then drink a glass or two while relaxing before sleep. what i ve been doing is just degenerate

I only drink once or twice a week. I've never felt miserable or depressed when I'm drunk.

OP you should try gaba-b drugs (pregabalin, gabapentin, phenibut, ghb), they mog gaba-a drugs like alcohol and benzos hard when it comes to feeling euphoria

You can buy phenibut online, its legal in Europe

i might check it. quick google search told me i need a prescription for it here, so i went by that

it's probably better to just forget about these copes for losers and start living like a normal person, though

Yes indeed, all drugs are super cope for me, its not worth it, whats the point of being high when tolerance will catch you sooner or later anyway, what then? You just need to cope as best as you can with improving mental health without recreational drugs.

The only non cope drugs for me are

-psychedelics (not addictive at all, its like a journey, you don't feel like tripping again for months after, also not harmful for brain at all)

-stimulants in therapeutic doses (like ritalin and adderall to study, they are great tools, and contrary to gaba drugs, stims don't get tolerance very fast)

yeah. whenever i go for a walk during a sunny day (or do anything social), i get more positive effects than from these shitty pills. too bad it's so easy to relapse when you've been rotting for a long time

During my two times getting drunk. The first time, I got euphoric but became suicidal until I sobered up. The second time, I drank too much and vomited all over my bed and cried myself to sleep.

It wasn't very enjoyable at all. I felt horrible. I don't want to do it again.
