Iirc correctly its sort of a reboot where ichigo comes back after the previous ending with Aizen.

Thousand year blood war has a new antagonist.

TYBW is a good arc. I like Yhwach and his gang.

Aizen is a bummer though

Most anime now is 2-3 cour(seasons). With that high-end animation and the length of the arc it'd be near impossible to do it in one season, even with how overworked and underpaid japanese animators already are
