Is applying ethanol face disenfectants bad?

I noticed that my pimples got reduced drastically and i have been using this routine for 1 year
Washing face and applying ethanol face disenfectant
then later i apply la roche skin cream and go to sleep

Well ethanol disinfectant is irritating and can damage the skin barrier, but Ive seen people who used the same method for years and got a perfect skin, so ig if your face tolerates it well keep up
