Let's face it most famous artists throughout history have been social outcasts and failures. Even today artists have a reputation for being hipster douchebags. So is art really that valued by most people at all or is just a cope for introverts?

Not true. It's only rock stars and the like that get laid. Nobody cares that you are a brilliant classical musician or some shit. Tbh it's not even really the music that gets rock stars laid so much as it's the social status of being a rock star.
