The irony is that being a freight ship captain could definitely be worth it. A cruise ship captain not so much. A cargo ship captain only has to inhabit the ship with maybe 6 or 7 other people. Months of uninterrupted work, but also months of uninterrupted leasure or whatever have you. Gotta do a lot of studying either way.
