Serious thread.
What I mean is average height people need to consume less food thus less systemic stress related to eating and digestion.
Also compared to taller individuals, the body needs to maintain and regenerate less cells.

So does that mean that not being taller makes you age slower?
Are the studies that shows that shorter people tend to live longer accurate and is it because of this reason?

Yes it does

More importantly is not being over weight

true. but at the same bf, the taller man will have to consume more calories to maintain / build muscle

why so? are there any other benefits other than the slower aging one?
Less health issues, cheaper food, cheaper drugs, more comfy airplane rides :Comfy:

But with that said, being tall would be ideal for almost everyone tho

I'd rather live for 30 years at 6'3 than 80 years at 5'7

yes but i'm talking about antiaging primarily. would you be 6'3 also if that means starting looking old(er) sooner?

i disagree because:
ig being tall leads to higher overall metabolic demand, but that's only for if the thing that's being affected by this stress and causing aging is fixed and doesn't change with height. since even though tall people need to digest more food to maintain their body the stress it causes should be more or less distributed the same amount across the body since for the more food they consume, they have more mass than shorter fellas, but that's just speculation.

So overall i don't think it causes anything more than negligible effects on longevity.

Less health issues
there's not a lot of evidence around that but i guess it makes sense since taller people have to pump blood across a longer distance and that may lead to heart issues having a slightly higher chance. but a good lifestyle again and it shouldn't really matter.

Shorter people have a longer lifespan too
Basically in modern society, shorter people physically benefit way way more. Tall genes are still desired for reasons that are no longer important but still embedded in our biology, aka fighting skills, hunting skills, physically more dominating, …

Generally, being taller means you have a harder time putting on muscle in the same proportions as a shorter person. Additionally, your entire body needs more fuel as a whole. Being big in today's world means you have to shovel more harmful chemicals into your mouth. If you can live off of a whole food organic diet however, there's probably a net benefit in terms of overall lifestyle.

Yeah Jews are making the population taller to lower their overall health and lifespan

kind of, being tall or large in general has an increased rate of cancer.

more cell division = more cancer, generally.

same goes for all other issues associated with faulty cell division.

does that include an earlier loss of youthful facial traits / worse aging? Would you trade that for being taller?
