I don't really wanna do MT2, seen the sort of splotchy dark zombie effects it can have on the skin and often just looks strange / unnatural. I have known about beta carotene for a while but often assumed it was a cope. If it really does have good color change I do want to try them. If so where can I buy legit beta carotene & astaxanthin that's actually gonna do shit. Preferably cheap.

yeah the combo is cope because it cannot replicate a real melanin tan
instead of bronzing, it deposits high amounts of yellow-orange pigments into your outer skin layers, often resulting in an unnatural, jaundiced tint (early 2026 clav)

Icl i used to take beta carotene and the effects were minimal so i wouldnt really recommend it

it's not cope at all.

This is an example of a carotenoid skin tone shift

Yeah thats true, but i'm white as hell and just want some glow. I also got bad facial redness around my cheeks and was hoping a warmer skin hue would lower the contrast of my pale skin and red cheeks.

looking pretty minimal, but i guess she already has darker skin tone to begin with.
i don't really feel like it's minimal at all, I mean this picture was I think without astaxanthin but I'm not so sure

It's only unnatural if you dose astaxanthin and beta carotene incorrectly.

topical products designed to warm skin tone can help reduce the contrast of facial redness, providing a tanned appearance without UV exposure
it is essential to use such products sparingly to achieve a natural looking shade rather than an intense or unnatural hue

while avoiding high intake can minimize severe orange discoloration, the peptide still cannot replicate a natural melanin tan
lower intake levels will only yield a subtle, yellowish warm glow rather than a true bronze undertone

carotenoids aren't peptides and your presuming that a melanin tan is the only ideal tone which it is not. There was actually a study (Whitehead et al., 2012 and Stephen et al., 2011) that tested whether observers prefer melanin coloration or carotenoid coloration on human faces and participants consistently chose the carotenoid glow as looking healthier and more attractive.

the referenced studies indeed confirm that observers prefer the golden, diet induced carotenoid glow over a sun induced melanin tan
this aesthetic benefit is best achieved through low, consistent dietary intake to avoid the unnatural orange pooling of high dose supplementation

the only time I'd not use beta carotene and i wouldn't suggest it incase the person that wants it is still in puberty, because again, you can just eat carrots and spinach

I'm 18, I don't see any harm at all in trying beta carotene and astaxanthin, If it causes a skin tone I don't like, ill just stop taking them. After all, there is zero risk profile.

yeah it’s cope.

if you don’t want to use mt2, which is probably a good idea to be fair, then just focus on tanning naturally. you will go much farther doing that.

just use sunscreen and do it within a reasonable UV.

Yeah true, I have just been tanning naturally before this. With a 30 spf. Unfortunately the UK gets terrible UV, so i have bee catching sun when I can.

get glasses retard I can fucking see the difference
it’s a fucking tiny difference. why would you spend money and energy on something that other people won’t even notice.

ohhh shit. i just remembered

get this shit dude ^^^

i used to use this before i doing a cycle of mt2. it works overnight and it’s easy as fuck to apply. gives you a good color quickly. also there’s a compounding effect where if you use it multiple days in a row you get progressively tanner. you’re welcome

^^^ it’s “made for men” so the tan comes out good even if you throw it on carelessly. it lasts several days as well.

That study used very low doses of carotenoids. You can get more coloring from higher doses.

Beta carotene looks too much like jaundice just use the red pigments lycopene and astaxanthin
