No, if anything it's overrated. It's helpful if you're genuinely recessed, and doubly so if you also have a short face with good eye area (in other words: it's good if it fixes your failos), but otherwise it won't change your front much (the most important angle), and comes with risks such as being overadvanced or getting a canted smile. I've seen many users here asking for or recommending bimax where it was not needed at all.

There is also the opportunity cost of money and recovery time instead of doing other procedures that might suit you better.
