I refuse to believe it's due to economic factors when generations in the 1900s led arguably just as hard a life if not harder than people today. Yes I do think Millenial spending and savings trends are an issue but I don't think thats the reason why people not getting married anymore- even poor people would get married in virtually any culture ever.
I think real reason is because most women don't want to get married and have kids with normie men. They are holding over into their early 30s, waiting out on the belief that they will land their dream partner (which tbh will never happen). My 29 yo cousin is a prime example. She is a becky who goes out EVERY weekend all caked up; we all know the reason why too. She used to date a normie years ago but she is now bent on the idea she can land a bachelorette style partner.
Probably why South Korea rate is .70 now; most women yearning for a KPop looker while the average South Korean is repulsive to them.
Of course when it comes to discourse, people will never cite these desires but will instead scapegoat economic issues. If you were to make South Korean women's lives less work heavy and financially manageable, I truly believe the birth rate trend would continue as is. @StrangerDanger
