Is buying a apartment a good investment?

I’m 21 now and I am thinking of moving out soon and I have got money from my parents to buy an apartment for around 450-500k.
Do you guys think it would be smarter to just have the money in a fund and wait to move out later?

If you don't mind being somewhat tied down by a mortgage and you can get a good rate I would just pay the minimum amount required for the down payment and then put the remaining money on index funds, this way you preserve your capital and still generate returns, this is at least the logical course of action in Spain, there might be more nuance to it depending on where you live.

Buy land in a profitable area that is not just yet like when you see on the beach a company building huge hotels buy early a property next to it. So when they are bug you will sell it to them to profit
