Is calisthenics optimal for looksmaxxing?

I want your thoughts on if going to the gym for hypertrophy traning or doing calisthenics is more optimal for looks.

As we all know many people cope with gym and think how much they bench/deadlift matters when in reality no girls care abt that.

So i just wanna know what ur guy’s opinions are on what is best for looksmaxxing.

Only way i can see gym being better is ur able to properly isolate shoulders and back more. Which is the only real benefit i see over calisthenics. But idk

Also reason im asking this is cause for some reason when I’ve been going to the gym the last week and lifting heavy, i have been getting this really weird sharp pain on like a specific spot on the top of my head. Im scared its a blood vessel or something that wants to burst but idk. If any of you know more about this or have experienced the same please share

Well if im just gonna go from the top of my head. Better movement, better for health (i think) and better for joints and stuff. But the main thing is when i go to the gym i see a lot of like. Not good physiques if u get what i mean, like they have muscle but are also fat and looks weird. I know its not really cause of the training and mostly diet probably but its just my observation that calisthenics people usually have a more leaner/better physique

what makes a movement better?
no difference for joints, weights could actually be better and safer since you can go lighter and more focused on what you need.

yes calisthenics people most of the time are leaner, my geuss is that is because if they get too fat, they cant do their excercises, since they are too heavy. thats also a problem of calisthenics.

everything you can do in calisthenics you can do better with weights.

and also you can do a mix, you dont have to limit yourself to 1.

Calisthenics with weight maybe. As long as you are lean and fit, whataver method u use

Most Calisthenics physiques look way better than gymcel physiques, imo Calisthenics is way more optimal than just regular weightlifting. However getting good at Calisthenics takes months/years of practice whereas anyone can pickup heavy metal and lift it.

you can do both. But I understand your point calisthenics athletes are usually leaner because they need to be that way to excel, agile, flexible, and strong. Gymcels on the other hand it is not a strong of requirement.

yeah lol its way healther and better for the body you dont fuck up your joints later on in life

Probably not without using weights to add resistance.

You’re badly limited for quad exercises and chest exercises.

I think reaching the desired 23-24 FFMI with body weight alone is impossible and still very difficult with weights.

However you might actually look very aesthetic at a lower FFMI as chest and quads aren’t that important for aesthetics.
 
bullshit pushup varations and pistol squats are good enough

No, weights and hypertrophy are better for targeting muscle growth that’s an objective fact. If you want to have a more “toned” physique, just lift and eat low cals
 
Both are good I like calisthenics as you don’t have to drive to the gym and can just get a 20 minutes good workout before you shower whenever with just a mat and pull up bar but if you want really good physique easier you should go gym too
